Michael A. Klein
Managing Principal
Michael is a dynamic and results-driven real estate executive with 25 years of experience leading investments, capital markets, and operational execution across office, multifamily, retail and mixed-use assets. Raised and structured more than $1.6 billion in equity and debt through deep relationships with institutional, family office, and high-net-worth investors. Track record spans the full real-estate lifecycle, from sourcing and underwriting to repositioning and development, encompassing over 10 million SF of assets, including 2.1 million SF of office space, 993 multifamily units, and 7.7 million SF of mixed-use development projects. Known for blending analytical rigor with entrepreneurial drive to unlock value, inspire teams, and deliver measurable returns.
As Managing Principal (and Founder), Michael is responsible for all aspects of real estate activities including capital markets, investor relations, acquisitions, development, asset management, leasing, property management, and overall corporate operations.
Prior to founding BoundTrain, Michael was a Managing Director and Principal at Penzance, where he managed the investments team and Investment Committee process, executed investment strategy, identified and structured promising deals, oversaw due diligence for acquisitions, monitored leasing and asset management, and was responsible for valuation of the portfolio as well as potential investments.
Before joining Penzance, Michael served as the Vice President of Acquisitions and Finance at Akridge.
A Boston native, he received his Bachelor of Science in Management from Rensselaer and his MBA from Hult International Business School.
